This is about me. Me, a literary husband, six busy kids, one and a half excitable dogs, and three cats who own us all.

RtHP Continues
I've had a hard time getting anything posted. We've been preoccupied with the living room. The walls are painted a warm honey-wheat color, which replaces the white-pink the former owners left and that we've lived with for 10 years. We were going to paint the floor, but realized we could just hand-sand the paint off. It took a full day of every adult in the house on our hands and knees, squares of 100 grit sanding paper in our hands, blisters forming on our fingers, our clothes covered in sanding dust, but it's done. The nail holes have been filled with wood putty and we're sealing the floor. After the seal is cured, BOOKSHELVES! At last! I have been taking pictures, but my crappy digital camera is not good in lower light conditions. With the motion blur, it looks like people are sanding at 100 mph.

We have been heard the whole background surrounding these bookshelves...
You HAVE TO get a good photo up!
The only question I have is will they be empty or full?
Wow... what happened to my grammer on that last one... It SHOULD HAVE said...

Nice grammar, FOF. The answer is: FULL! We have stacks of books in this house. The current bookshelves are already full to bursting, and that's after I've culled them. We tend to collect books. I may have room for one or two storage boxes on the shelves (nice ones, of course) which will hold photos I haven't yet archived (I don't scrapbook. Can't be bothered.).
I am so excited to see it all when it is finished. Thanks for taking some time out to come and eat as the kids seemed to enjoy being together. I was glad to see that Jade was still here when you left (I thought she might disappear to your house under the girls coats) lol. I'm looking forward to seeing your home makeover soon!
As we recently painted the walls and completely refinished the hardwood floor in my boys' room, I am totally impressed. We took WEEKS and certainly did a sub-professional job - on the floor at least. I think the walls are awesome - its our sea room.
I can hardly wait to see your pictures!
Someday I want floor to ceiling, wall to wall to wall bookshelves in my front room. I think there still wouldn't be enough room for all the books.
What are some of your favorites?
Shanna: We had a great time at your house, and yes, Child Two managed to leave the dog behind, much as she wanted to steal her away. The kids played with their marshmallow guns today.
Barbara: the floor took a little more sanding than we thought, but the second coat of stain just went on and we'll start sealing it tomorrow. It's been my life-long dream to live in a library, or at least to have one in the house.
I have some very favorite cookbooks, lots and lots of sheet music that I like to play, and lots of various non-fiction books on different topics. I love science fiction especially (Asimov and Orson Scott Card are two of my favorites) and I like fantasy a lot (McCaffrey, Rothfuss, Jordan, the list goes on and on). I also love Cleon Skousen's Thousand Year series, but we have tons of LDS books I like. I'm going to stop now before I totally write another post here.
You have talked about the sea room, and now that you have a camera you can post some pictures. I love to see what other people have done.
That would be neat, though, if someone WAS sanding at 100 mph.
