News Through a Haze

No politics. I promise. I'm way too tired.

News:
I have almost perfected the art of making really tender and flaky Southern-style biscuits.
My supervisor called me "the best outsource writer in the world" today. I put that on my calendar.
Elannah and Sophia both tried out for Annie, and only one of them made it, despite both of them getting call-backs. That was a little painful. Elannah, the lucky one, is an orphan now (not literally) and has a grueling rehearsal schedule. She has wanted to act for a long time, so I hope she's happy.
Husband finished the last re-work of his novel. It should be formatted and sent to publishers soon. He is not expecting anything, but at least he wrote the book.
Gabrielle bought a cat with her birthday money. It was either a cat or a guinea pig, which her sister, who shares a room with her, was not at all excited about. The new cat, Lincoln (or Link, for short), has now been schooled by older and larger Myles. Lincoln knows his place now. I find him mostly adorable.
My part-time job is taking me 8 hours a day.
We got a Kinetico water softener installed. My hair is so soft and silky, Sophia's dry hands are healing up, and I don't feel all that scale in my intestines anymore. It's wonderful.

That's it, folks.

A.) Thanks... Now I am hungry for "tender and flaky" biscuits.

B.) Congrats! It's great when a supervisor acknowledges you for what you do (and do well!)

C.) Both congrats, and condolences for your children's entry into off-off-off Broadway!

D.) Your husband will sell at least ONE copy of his novel! (Will he sign it for me?)

E.) Don't even get me started on cats... I'm going to combine the name of two 70's / 80's TV sitcoms to share my feelings about having three cats in the house... "Three's Company" and "Eight is Enough" combine to make "Three is Enough" (or maybe "more than enough")... Sigh.

F.) Is there 8 hours worth of work, or is it taking you 8 hours to get it accomplished?

G.) We went two or three years without a softener... It ruined our dishes, glasses, water faucets, etc, etc, etc. I could not believe the difference it made when we installed ours!

and finally....

H.) Yes... Now you know I can recite the alphabet (at least up to "H").

Thanks, FOF. In answer to F., more work and more time. It translates to more $$, or course, but the house is a mess. Also, you'll get the first copy of Husband's book, signed, of course!

Well.. I certainly do not need the "first" - I'll leave that one to his collection, his parents collection, or one of many I'm sure would like a copy... "First Run" should suffice! (wink)

So, now that your husband has finished his novel, when can we expect yours?

My novel? I hope to have that done within 10 years. First I gotta figure out what I'm writing. :)
